BurstWatch is an independent fan-run project that tracks a limited subset of guitars listed on Gibson.com, specifically exclusive, artist, and limited models, to help enthusiasts see how availability changes over time. It does not track all Gibson products and does not interact with any user accounts, carts, or checkout flows. Our goal is to make it easier for musicians, enthusiasts, collectors, and community members to find the Gibson guitar of their dreams.
What We Track
- Public product information for a narrow set of Gibson.com guitars, including exclusive, artist, and limited models.
- Basic facts such as model name, collection tags, price, and in-stock or out-of-stock status as displayed to any ordinary visitor.
- No customer data, orders, serial numbers, or personally identifiable information.
How We Access Information
- BurstWatch only accesses publicly available pages and data that a normal visitor’s browser can reach without logging in.
- Checks are limited to public product and listing pages, and the standard product data responses those pages load in a typical browser session.
- We do not access checkout, cart, account, order history, or other sensitive flows, and we do not interact with any non-public or internal endpoints.
Respect for robots.txt and Gibson.com
- BurstWatch treats Gibson.com’s robots.txt file as the boundary for what automated tools should and should not access, and it avoids all disallowed paths.
No Personal Data
- BurstWatch does not collect, store, or process email addresses, phone numbers, payment details, or any other personal information through the public site.
- There are no user accounts on BurstWatch, no public-facing notification signup tools, and no marketing lists built from site visitors.
Independence and Trademarks
- BurstWatch is an independent fan project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Gibson Brands, Inc.
- “Gibson” and all related model names are trademarks of Gibson Brands, Inc. and are used on this site only to identify the genuine products being tracked.
Purchase Guidance
- Recommendations are based on publicly available information and are inferred from historical availability patterns, community interest, and general market behavior for similar instruments.
- These recommendations are an independent BurstWatch opinion and should not be treated as a statement of actual Gibson.com inventory levels or demand.
Our Principles
- Public data only: We use information that is already visible to any visitor of Gibson.com, without logging in or bypassing protections.
